Portfolio | Sports and Consumer Work

Consumer Scientist with a Passion for Sports Content Creation and Social Media Production

With a background in Consumer and Sport Science, I bring a unique blend of insight into fan behavior, sports performance, and digital storytelling. My passion lies in translating data and culture into engaging sports content that resonates with audiences across platforms. From understanding what drives fan engagement to creating scroll-stopping visuals and video, I use my knowledge to produce strategic, platform-specific content that bridges the gap between athletes, teams, and their communities.

Here’s a scope of the jobs I have worked on:

WORK 01

Titans Cricket Union

Marketing and Communications Intern

Using the knowledge gained from working at TuksCricket, I landed a position as M&C Intern at the leading domestic cricket franchise in the country. As the marketing and communications department we work on marketing the Momentum Multiply Titans, Fidelity Titans and the SuperSport Park including the SuperSport Park International Cricket Academy and Young Guns on all active platforms and build on the brand. The stadium hosts international fixtures for the Cricket South Africa’s Proteas Men’s and Women’s squads and thus we worked closely with the events and marketing team for CSA. Other projects include the SA20 competition where we work on a stadium capacity.

In addition to my role as M&C, I assisted in in-house events from the Events Department and liaised with the Commercial Department on partner relations and stakeholder contracts, learning not only the administration but the time and efforts put into building sustainable business relationships.

WORK 02

Red Lantern

Social Media Content Production

As a Social Media Content Producer at Red Lantern, I specialise in spotting digital trends and turning them into engaging, high-performing video content for global sports brands. My day-to-day involves creating platform-specific content for the Mumbai Indians franchise in and out of season for their global TikTok audience.

With a deep understanding of South African culture, I localise West Ham United and Liverpool FC club content by blending it with uniquely South African narratives to drive geo-targeted engagement and fan growth across the region on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram.

In addition to this I have created for FIFA and liaised on Wimbledon content. I work at the intersection of sport, culture, and digital storytelling — producing scroll-stopping content that feels native to the fans and authentic to the brand.

WORK 03

TuksCricket

Social Media Management and Marketing

In a world where marketing drives connection, stepping into my first social media management role felt like a natural fit. At TuksCricket, I had the opportunity to merge my passion for cricket with creativity — producing content that showcased the excellence of the program on and off the field.

My role gave me hands-on experience working closely with players, staff, and alumni, including Proteas stars who came through the Tuks system. I created and managed content for major tournaments like Varsity Cricket and University Sports South Africa (USSA) and the Titans Club Leagues, telling the story of the team through videography, editing, photography, graphic design, and event planning.

From strategic post planning and SEO to capturing match-day moments, I shaped the online voice of one of South Africa’s Universities’ top cricket institutions.

WORK 04

SA20

SuperSport Park / Centurion Stadium Intern

During the third SA20 season, I became part of the Stadium Support Team at SuperSport Park, home of the Pretoria Capitals. As a Marketing & Communications Intern with the Titans, I collaborated with the Pretoria Capitals’ marketing team to support their digital and in-stadium presence.

I contributed to the SuperSport Park social media pages, helped shape matchday marketing content, and assisted with Cricket Operations activations on game days — ensuring fans experienced the energy of SA20 both online and in the stands.

WORK 05

Global Cricket Tournament

Social Media Coordinator

As the Social Media Coordinator for the Global Cricket Tournament, I worked closely with the Marketing Manager to highlight the tournament’s international scope — featuring players from Essex County Cricket Club, Japan Cricket Association, and Cricket Namibia.

I also focused on driving visibility for local teams including Eastern Storm, DP World Lions, and Fidelity Titans through targeted digital storytelling. My role included creating match day video and photo content, helping bring the tournament to life across platforms and showcasing the diversity and talent involved.

WORK 06

Dalen Mmako Foundation

Social Media Content Production

The Dalen Mmako Foundation is dedicated to investing in the future of cricket by providing young athletes with the resources they need to succeed. I’ve contributed by creating both match day content and broader storytelling pieces around the foundation’s impact — capturing moments through video and photography that highlight the growth of the game at grassroots level.

WORK 07

RMIS

Content Production and Podcast Host

Red Meat Industry Services (RMIS) represents the most nationally inclusive sector-specific organisations across the red meat value chain, from primary producers to abattoirs.

With my background in Consumer Sciences and a focus on Food Retail, I was uniquely positioned to support RMIS in its mission to bridge the gap between producers and consumers. My role centered on translating complex academic and industry information into accessible content for both farmers and everyday consumers serving as both a voice for academia and a relatable touchpoint for the public through the Red Meat Khuluma podcast.

I helped bring clarity to key agricultural and consumer issues, aligning scientific knowledge with real-world understanding.

WORK 08

The Tasting Room

Brand Ambassador and Storytelling

Brand identity plays a powerful role in how consumers value and interact with products and often key information gets lost in translation from brand to consumer. In this role, I focused on bridging that gap through clear, engaging storytelling.

I unpacked the essence of brands from their founders and operations to the product attributes and core values that shape consumer perception. By breaking down complex brand information into simplified content, I helped consumers connect more meaningfully with the products they love.

Brands worked with: Ardbeg, Boschendal, Brutal Fruit, Corona Extra, Devil’s Peak, Don Julio, Earthbound Distillery, Father Coffee, Franschhoek Cellar, Glenϐiddich, Glenmorangie, Graham Beck, Grants, Haute Cabriere, Inverroche, Kleine Zalze, Klipdrift, Lillet Aperitif, Lofoten, Malfy, Monkey 47, Nederburg, Nitida, Old Road Wines Co, Perdeberg, Perlage, Spier, Steenberg, Stella Artois, St Fancis, Three Bays.

WORK 09

PDBY

Entertainment Writer

As an Entertainment Writer for PDBY, I created engaging editorial content that highlighted the creative talent thriving in Hatfield and greater Pretoria. My focus was on telling authentic stories about students, local artists, and entrepreneurs who were expressing themselves through music, art, fashion, performance, and culture all while speaking directly to the University of Pretoria’s student audience.

I collaborated with editors and layout teams across print and digital, contributing to dynamic storytelling that captured student life. This role strengthened my skills in youth-focused content creation, cultural journalism and media communication.

WORK 10

BOOST

Recipe Development and Brand Management

BOOST is a dehydrated fruit and vegetable powder made to fight food waste by using 100% rescued produce from partners like SA Harvest. Available in Supergreens, Berries & Beet, and Papaya Citrus. BOOST preserves the full nutritional value of ingredients through low-temperature dehydration.

I led the recipe development, designed the packaging and brand identity, and managed the marketing, positioning BOOST as a functional, sustainable solution for communities through food innovation.
